Canon's Adora DRFi
Canon Medical Systems USA has received FDA clearance for its Adora DRFi system, a hybrid radiography and fluoroscopy solution.

The Adora DRFi integrates static and dynamic radiography with low-dose fluoroscopy in a single unit. It features a ceiling-mounted design with independent movement of the X-ray tube and detector arms, allowing for flexible imaging angles. The system includes Canon’s PositionAnywhere technology, enabling it to adjust to the patient rather than requiring repositioning.

At the core of the system is the CXDI-RF Wireless B1 Detector, which can be docked for fluoroscopic and radiographic exams or used wirelessly throughout the room. The patient table, made of carbon fiber, supports a high weight capacity and features a floating tabletop with up to 340-degree rotation. Automated features, including the inMotion auto-positioning technology, aim to enhance workflow efficiency while reducing physical strain on staff.

“Adora DRFi is a testament to Canon Medical’s dedication to delivering innovative solutions that prioritize both clinical excellence and patient care,” said Satrajit Misra, chief sales and marketing officer at Canon Medical Systems USA. “This system combines versatility, efficiency, and advanced imaging technology in a way that redefines what’s possible in a hybrid radiography and fluoroscopy system.”

The system is designed to streamline radiology workflows by enabling both radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures in a single room, minimizing the need for patient movement. It also includes optional features such as an integrated patient hoist, inControl console, and remote operation capabilities.

Charles Cassudakis, managing director of the X-ray business unit, highlighted the system’s user-centered design, stating, “Every detail of this system was developed with the user in mind, from the ergonomic design to the cutting-edge imaging capabilities.”
