TRIMEDX has appointed Neil de Crescenzo as its new CEO, effective April 2, following the retirement of Henry Hummel, who will transition to chair of the company’s board of directors.

The Indianapolis-based clinical asset management firm said de Crescenzo brings decades of healthcare technology experience to the role. He most recently served as CEO of Optum Insight and previously led Change Healthcare as president and CEO before its $13 billion acquisition by UnitedHealth Group in 2022.

Earlier in his career, de Crescenzo held executive roles at Oracle and IBM, and has served on several industry boards, including CCC Intelligent Solutions and the Healthcare Leadership Council.

“I am honored to join TRIMEDX as CEO and build upon the strong foundation established by Henry and the entire leadership team,” de Crescenzo said in a statement. “I am excited to be working with our associates on our next phase of innovation and growth, continuing to provide exceptional service to our clients and making a meaningful impact in healthcare.”

Under Hummel’s leadership since 2017, TRIMEDX tripled in size, expanding from 1,200 associates supporting 1,800 healthcare sites to more than 3,200 associates across nearly 6,000 locations. Key developments during his tenure included the 2018 acquisition of Aramark’s Healthcare Technologies business and the 2020 purchase of Centurion Service Group, which added medical equipment resale capabilities to the company’s portfolio.

TRIMEDX also advanced its technology offerings during this period, launching its Vigilor cybersecurity platform in 2023 and GeoSense, a real-time location system for medical devices, in 2024.

“I have full confidence that under Neil’s leadership, TRIMEDX will continue to thrive,” Hummel said.
