The Amirix LM33-T mammo tube
Amirix Imaging has entered a 10-year exclusive distribution agreement with Kailong Medical to supply its LM33-T mammography X-ray tube across North America. The partnership gives Amirix sole rights to distribute the H5077T / LM33-T tube in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
Based in Los Angeles, the company was founded in 2024 by mammography specialist Michael Amiri and Lars Aagaard, an X-ray tube engineer whose family has longstanding ties to the industry. The LM33-T tube is marketed as a direct replacement for the Varex M113-T used in Hologic’s Dimensions and 3Dimensions systems. Since its launch, over 100 units have been sold.
Kailong Medical, founded in 2002 and headquartered in China, manufactures a broad range of diagnostic X-ray tubes. Its catalog includes stationary and rotating anode models, mammography tubes, and side beryllium window designs. The company holds GMP, ISO13485, FDA, and CE certifications.

"Our partnership with Kailong began after we came across their tube technology at RSNA," Amiri, who serves as president of the company, told HCB News. "From the start, it was clear we share the same values with a commitment to quality, innovation and providing more cost effective solutions."
Amirix is currently in the final stages of implementing a Quality Management System (QMS) to become ISO 13485 compliant. The company is planning to soon launch new mammography tubes for the Fuji Cristalle and Hologic Selenia systems, along with general radiography tubes designed for both rad rooms and mobile applications.
"Partnering with Kailong Medical allows Amirix Imaging to significantly enhance the quality and accessibility of mammography solutions across North America," said Amiri.
A Kailong Medical spokesperson added, "This partnership represents a pivotal moment for both companies, combining Kailong’s manufacturing excellence and Amirix Imaging's specialized market expertise and exceptional customer focus."
Amirix also plans to expand its product offerings through the agreement, including small and midsized general diagnostic X-ray tubes. Looking ahead, the company also plans to unveil a line of CT tubes for Siemens Healthineers and GE HealthCare systems.
