Intended to make
coordination easier
Samsung Electronics America and TigerText announced a partnership on Thursday to get a new smartphone technology in the hands of clinicians in order to make their jobs easier.
The technology is currently certified and deployed on the Samsung Galaxy J7. TigerText's TigerFlow is also available on Samsung's full portfolio of mobile devices including its flagship Galaxy S8 and Note 8.
TigerFlow is a clinically integrated workflow engine that centralizes information on a single interface and provides real-time mobile notifications. That information comes from the hospital's EHR, nurse call station, scheduling center, imaging department and labs.
It's specifically designed for clinical hospital staff members and is intended to help improve the way they communicate and coordinate efforts. It can also be used at home health and skilled nursing facilities.
Since cybersecurity is at the forefront of purchasing decisions, Samsung built its Knox Security solution into the new technology. That allows for secure access to patient health information through the mobile EMR.
In addition, the Knox Configure tool provides IT administrators with a secure, centralized interface for managing users, devices and applications.
This is not the first time TigerText has partnered with a smartphone vendor. In June 2016, the company
worked with Honeywell to customize its TigerText app to take full advantage of the features of the Dolphin CT50h smartphone.
TigerText also announced last December that it
scored more than 300 new health care partnerships in 2016, including five of the 10 largest health systems in the U.S.
