The ICU Medical Plum 360 is an advanced large volume infusion pump designed to enhance patient safety and streamline IV therapy. Unlike most other infusion pumps that rely on gravity, the Plum 360 uses an active pumping mechanism to deliver fluids. It leverages the Plum cassette for fluid delivery, minimizing common setup errors and alarms associated with other pumps.
The secondary line connects directly to the Plum cassette, allowing fluid to be drawn directly from the secondary container without the need for specific height adjustments. The system can detect clamp closures, alerting clinicians promptly to occlusions.
The Plum cassette features an air trap that can capture up to 1 mL of air before triggering an alarm. If an air-in-line alarm occurs, automated back priming can remove air without disconnecting from the patient.
