GE HealthCare and Swiss Medical Network have formalized a new research collaboration aimed at advancing molecular imaging and theranostics thorough the establishment of a Center of Excellence at Clinique de Genolier.

Building on a 2022 strategic agreement between the two organizations, the center will focus on developing and validating technologies that support precision oncology, using molecular imaging, targeted therapies, and AI-enabled tools. It will explore the use of tools such as the Omni Legend 32 PET/CT, StarGuide SPECT/CT, and 870DR systems, recently deployed at Swiss Medical Network’s facilities in Genolier and Lake Geneva.

“This agreement represents a step forward in our shared mission to advance molecular imaging and theranostics,” said Peter Arduini, president and CEO of GE HealthCare. “The agility of the Swiss Medical Network enables us to rapidly validate and adopt innovative technologies.”

Clinique de Genolier’s Department of Nuclear Medicine will lead the research effort, with support from Swiss Medical Network’s broader infrastructure across Switzerland.

“With its deep expertise in molecular and diagnostic imaging, GE HealthCare plays a crucial role in fostering research synergies across the nationwide Swiss Medical Network,” said Dr. Jacques Bernier, chief science officer, Swiss Medical Network.

Theranostics, which integrates diagnostic imaging and targeted radiotherapy, has gained traction in oncology for its ability to deliver more tailored care. Dr. Antoine Leimgruber, medical and development director of nuclear medicine at Swiss Medical Network, emphasized the significance of the collaboration in driving medical research and adapting practices to emerging technologies.
