Hyperfine has announced new partnerships with distributors in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and key Nordic markets to further extend the reach of its Swoop portable MR across European markets.
This expansion
follows prior partnerships with distributors in France, the U.K., and Italy, as well as the company's
receipt of CE certification under the EU MDR, and UKCA certification in the U.K. for its most advanced hardware and AI-powered software. Hyperfine is now positioned for commercial expansion into twelve European countries.
Swoop, unique for its portability and relatively low cost, has a .064 Tesla magnet and requires no shielding. It is meant to enhance, and expand access to, brain imaging capabilities. The technology is particularly aimed at expanding clinical applications from hospital critical care units to outpatient clinics and medical offices, with potential use in treating conditions like Alzheimer’s disease and acute stroke.

"We are thrilled with the initial feedback from clinicians in European sites. The positive feedback highlights the Swoop system's potential to significantly impact adult and pediatric care throughout Europe," said Maria Sainz, president and CEO of Hyperfine.
The Connecticut-based company has appointed industry veteran Enrico Barini as international business development director. Barini, who brings extensive experience from previous roles at ViewRay Inc. and Boston Scientific, is spearheading Swoop's market introduction in Europe.
In addition to the company’s European expansion plans, Hyperfine announced, in May, a distribution agreement with Radiosurgery Global to
develop Asian markets, including India.
