Alok Chaudhary will serve as the vice president, chief data and AI officer for VCU Health System. He will begin in his new role on July 21.
To promote innovation and enhance outcomes, efficiency and equity, Alok will chair VCU Health’s Data Steering Committee, in collaboration with key health system leaders, to prioritize and deliver a data platform that best serves our patients and team members. He will also lead the development of high-performance teams to ensure alignment with our mission and values while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability and commitment to customer service and business needs.
Alok comes to VCU Health with more than two decades of experience in health care data, analytics and IT, including 18 years of leadership experience. He most recently served as chief data and analytics officer for Ballad Health in Johnson City, Tennessee. In this role, he led the establishment of an analytics center of excellence and developed an enterprise data management strategy for the 21-hospital health system serving counties in Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky and North Carolina. Before joining Ballad Health, Alok served in a similar role at University of Louisville Health from October 2017 to January 2022.
Alok’s health care service also extends to professional associations, as he is a member of the Chief Data Officer (CDO) Magazine global editorial board and the Modal Learning advisory board. He earned his MBA from Oregon State University and a Certificate in Information Systems Management from the UC Santa Cruz Extension program in Silicon Valley.
