The acquisition of NAI by PartsSource is a major event in the third party market for medical equipment parts. DOTmed News contacted PartSource and asked about the significance of the deal and what it would mean going forward.

"On February 23, 2007 the parent company of PartsSource completed the strategic purchase of North American Imaging (NAI) and ProbeSource.

This supply chain acquisition will provide increased versatility and product offerings to PartsSource's growing list of customers in the purchase of X-Ray tubes, Image Intensifiers, Ultrasound probes and the repair of Ultrasound probes. NAI's 22-year history as the largest independent supplier to the healthcare marketplace, its strong brand awareness and solid reputation for quality and customer service made this company a logical partner to support both PartsSource and the industry's independent service providers' continued growth."

"The two companies will continue to have separate management teams, customer bases and marketing strategies. PartsSource will continue to be a customer of NAI, as they were prior to the purchase.
