October 18, 2016 -- Mineola, NY – Friends and colleagues of Winthrop-University Hospital gathered together on September 29 for a special ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the grand opening of Winthrop Specialty Center South, a multi-specialty practice offering a full complement of women’s healthcare services as well as family medicine. The Center is located at 70 East Sunrise Highway, Suite 515, in Valley Stream.
“We are pleased to celebrate the grand opening of this new facility in Valley Stream, which is an extension of the world-class services that Winthrop provides on a daily basis,” said Stephanie Meier, FACHE, Assistant Vice President, Women’s and Children’s Services at Winthrop.
Women’s healthcare services offered at this location include obstetrics-gynecology (OB/GYN), maternal-fetal medicine, urogynecology, and gynecologic oncology. It also conveniently features a family medicine practice, treating male and female patients of all ages for their primary care medical needs. Women’s Specialty Care Associates (formerly Blinderman & King Medical, PC): Dr. Arnelle Blinderman and Dr. Leslie King have been treating women for their OB/GYN healthcare needs in the Rockville Centre area since 1984. With the move to Winthrop Specialty Center South, their practice name has changed from Blinderman & King Medical, PC to Women’s Specialty Care Associates. Here, they will continue their well established tradition of providing compassionate care to patients. Dr. Sireesha Talapaneni and Dr. Ellerie Weissbrot practice at this location as well, in addition to nurse practitioner Ariela Cummings, MS, WHNP-BC.
Valley Stream Family Medicine: At this brand new practice, Dr. Priya Rani and Dr. Shalini Solanki treat patients of all ages for their primary healthcare needs. Valley Stream Family Medicine is conveniently located in the same suite as the other Winthrop Medical Affiliates practices, so patients don’t need to travel between offices. The practice also affiliated with Carle Place Family Medicine, a well-established primary care practice within the Winthrop Medical Affiliates practice group.
Women’s Contemporary Care Associates: The former Lynbrook office of Women’s Contemporary Care Associates (WCCA) has also moved to Winthrop Specialty Center South. The practice’s physicians and specialists offer a wide range of women’s healthcare services including maternal-fetal medicine, urogynecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery, general obstetrics and gynecology, and adolescent gynecology.
