Affiliate of American Radiosurgery, Inc. now offers complete removal of older Gamma Knife™ machines and sources

Wilkes-Barre, PA – Global Cancer Technology, Inc. announced today the successful removal of an older Gamma Knife™ machine and radioactive sources from Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. The Gamma Knife machine removal entailed not only the removal of the machine, but the transportation and disposal of the cobalt-60 sources. “Hospitals now have a cost effective alternative to removing their older Gamma Knife machine without depending on the manufacturer and the former monopoly that existed,” stated Mr. John Clark, the CEO of Global Cancer technology.

“We were delighted to have an alternative choice to removing the Gamma Knife device,” said Brenda Heck, Director of Imaging Services & Radiation Oncology for Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. “Global Cancer Technology provided us with comprehensive service, from the initial planning phases through oversight of the complete removal,” Ms. Heck further added. Global Cancer Technology is an international medical company providing radiosurgery equipment, partnerships, and services on a world-wide basis.
