Administrative assistants get their own day in April. Doctors get their own day in March. And in November, radiologic techs get their own week.
Every year for the past 30-odd years, the American Society for Radiologic Technologists commemorates the
discovery of X-rays by Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen on Nov. 8, 1895, by promoting National Radiologic Technology Week.
ASRT uses the week to honor RTs and drum up interest in the profession. The group also hosts a video contest. To get in the spirit, you can buy knickknacks at https://www.jimcolemanltd.com/nrtw/. Or watch the winning video from Jennifer Thompson-Daniel, an RT from Clarksville, Tenn., on why she loves her job: www.facebook.com/MyASRT.
