A medical center in Idaho had a dilemma. Within a few short months, they would be demolishing the diagnostic imaging wing of their facility. They had reached out to some vendors to discuss pricing and removing a 1997 Siemens Polystar Remote R/F Room, 1993 GE Advantx Rad/Tomo Room, and a 1993 PICKER AXIS Nuclear Gamma Camera.

The vendors had given them very low expectations due to cost of deinstallation and the fact that these units were almost obsolete in the United States. The hospital did some more research and decided to register on DOTmed and soon after, received a phone call from the Auction department offering assistance.

The center immediately saw the value in running Full-Service Auctions and sent over specs and pictures of the units. Both rooms sold in one Auction Cycle for a healthy market price, while the nuclear camera went for $5,000 to part-out to South America. The hospital couldn't believe they received a return of three times as much as they were offered by vendors they had contacted and they did not have to pay for deinstallation or shipping, nor did they have to worry about the logistics those processes entail.
