This is a set of six new medical grade tuning forks purchased from a large health agency as surplus. The set comes in a leatherette zippered case with a plastic liner with places for each tuning fork. The Hz of each instrument is stamped into the non-magnetic metal material it is made from.

From what I can understand, these tuning forks can be used to do accurate clinical and field tests such as the Weber Test, the Rinne Test, the Bing Test and the Schwabach Test. They can also be used for auditory rehabilitation (e.g Spatial Mapping) and hearing aid trouble-shooting. There is an interesting discussion of the merits of using these inexpensive, classic instruments versus the the digital array of options commonly available. It can be found if you search Google using the terms Indiana Jones, audiology and tuning forks.
