Sponsored Content | July 12, 2012

Solutions to tube arcing are often easier than you think. Here are some practical tips to guide you.

Clean Connections
Look for arc marks and clean any debris from tube connections, slip rings, brush block assembly, and HV anode/cathode cables and wells.

Gassy Tube?
Run tube seasoning procedure. Continue the program until there is no arcing present during this process.

Run Diagnostics
Determine Arcing Location: Is it in the anode or cathode? Large or small filament? Is the gantry tilted or stationary? Is it kV or mA dependant?

Select Appropriate Test: Check operation of the anode and cathode tank and filament transformer through system diagnostics. Check the kV, mA and filament current according to OEM specifications. Test the HV sub-systems. Check the rotor controller system, boost, run and brake times and voltages.
