When analyzing image quality problems, here are some helpful tips to help you identify the culprit:
• Does the problem occur in head and/or body scans?
• Does it occur in all three voltages or only at a specific voltage?
• Is it in all slice widths or only in a specific width?
• Is the problem dependent on the mAs or rotation time?
• Does it occur in any particular resolution or any specific reconstruction filter?
• Is it intermittent or continuous?
• Does the problem occur in the upper part of the skull (partial volume problem)?
