All tubes are subject to wear and tear and the frequency of use is the primary factor that determines how long a tube will last. The most common cause for tube failure is overheating which can damage the anode track, filament, or bearing unit. Proper calibration and sufficient cooling time between procedures are equally important for optimum performance and longer tube life.
