Manufacturer's Description

All SciencewareSecadorDesiccator Cabinets are molded of a clear, blue or amber rigid plastic material which allows for easy observation of contents. The doors are hinged and gasketed and each is fitted with a hygrometer dial calibrated from 0 to 100% Relative Humidity. Each cabinet has a movable raised bottom shelf under which desiccant cartridges can be added. Polystyrene shelves are ribbed for strength and perforated for air exchange. SecadorDesiccator Cabinets, vertical profile, are stackable. The 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 model can be stacked up to 3 high, the 4.0 vertical profile units up to 2 high. The 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0, vertical models can be stacked on a 4.0 vertical. A lock loop on the door permits a padlock or a tamper evident tag to be used to prevent unauthorized opening. To clean the cabinet, use a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleansers, which will leave scratches. We recommend the use of Bel-Art Products AquetDetergent, Cat. No. F17094-0030.

The hygrometer supplied with this desiccator cabinet is not a precision instrument. It registers high or low humidity, but is not an accurate indicator of the percent of relative humidity in the cabinet. If the hygrometer reading changes to a lower value, then drying is taking place. If a more precise measure of the actual relative humidity in the cabinet is required, a portable, accurate hygrometer may be placed in the cabinet and read through the door.

Condition & Testing

This device is in excellent cosmetic and tested working condition. When plugged in the device powers on and the desiccator module starts running. The hygrometer works to give readings of the current internal relative humidity. We used this to verify that when the desiccator is running, itactively begins dropping internal humidity levels. The door of the cabinet opens and latches closed securely. The side walls and door are clear and see through with only minor scratches and scuffs here and there. This does not affect the ability to see into the cabinet. This unit includes 2 shelves made to be mounted within the device when it is in the horizontal position. This is a fully functioning device ready to be used as soon as you recieve it. Guaranteed not to be DOA.
