Carl Zeiss Opmi 9 Wall-Mounted Microscope

The Zeiss Opmi 9 is the last of the old generation of Zeiss operating microscopes. As a simple and inexpensive instrument, it was mainly aimed at physician offices, teaching labs or veterinarians. The Opmi 9 has no focusing device or initial magnification changer. Focusing is accomplished by moving it on its parallelogram suspension arm, but a simple focusing device ± 12 mm for the objective could be attached. A six-step magnification changer is incorporated with the system. The wall mount allows this great unit to be used in smaller offices, as there is no floor-space taken up by it. After use, the Opmi 9 folds back and condenses to the wall to create an unbothersome stance.
