SOMATOM Perspective (64-slice Conf.)
The new SOMATOM Perspective (64-slice configuration) is a high-end CT scanner that addresses the business requirements of modern healthcare without compromising clinical results. It is loaded with innovative technologies designed to manage the financial performance while expanding the clinical imaging portfolio - with added comfort and ease. Its unique eMode allows operating the scanner in a patient-friendly as well as financially-efficient way -with a single click. In addition to providing excellent quality at the low dose, consistent use of the eMode relieves the system of unnecessary wear, and thus increases the scanner's life cycle. The scanner has an ultra-modern slim gantry design, UFC detector system, and 0.6 s gantry rotation time for high quality efficient CT imaging. The SOMATOM Perspective 64-slice configuration uses information from up to 32 acquired slices and 64 reconstructed slices with Interleaved Volume Reconstruction (IVR) to evaluate the smallest structures like lesions or factures. IVR is using the measured data as efficiently as possible by reconstructing overlapping slices. The resulting data records are ideally suited for 2D/3D post processing. SOMATOM Perspective is a high-end CT scanner for an optimized return-on-investment. Its compact design allows installation in a space as small as 18.5 m2. This and the fact that the SOMATOM Perspective is an air-cooled system, keep life-cycle costs low. A large variety of advanced clinical applications enable a wide range of possibilities for referring physicians and thus the potential for an improved competitive position.

Foot Switch to control the motion (moving in and out) of the patient table, with vertical and horizontal movement.
Mattress with Spill Protection
The mattress has wide flaps and offers additional protection by preventing liquids spilling into the table by covering the gaps between table top and the table base. Small objects like cannulas are also prevented from falling into the gaps. This mattress is ideal for trauma and acute care settings as well as all customers caring for the safety of their equipment.
Illumination Moodlight Cover
The Illumination Moodlight is integrated in the cover of the scanner and can be easily adjusted on the scanner console to personal preference for more comfort. The user can choose a setting that changes the color of the light dynamically throughout the day, or a single color that harmonizes best with the room environment.

DoseMAP
DoseMAP - Siemens CT Dose Management Program - creates transparency in dose values and makes it possible to assess the dose situation. It improves security by setting dose alerts. DoseMAP has three components for complete and comprehensive dose management: Report, Analyze, and Protect.
Interleaved Volume Reconstruction
With its unique Interleaved Volume Reconstruction (IVR), the system has been designed to allow visualization of even the smallest diagnostic details by using the information of 64 slices. IVR uses available data of up to 32 row acquisitions at any pitch. An automatic, optimized selection of reconstruction parameters are implemented for the dedicated 64-slice protocols.

1Helps the user by displaying available kV settings based on patient habitus. Once kV is set for a dedicated patient, mAs will be automatically adapted to keep the right correlation between these scan parameters. This enables maintenance of dose levels, minimizing user dependent errors.
FAST Wizard
Supports daily routine with short tutorial videos displayed directly in the user interface about how to optimize scanner workflow and clinical outcome. Provides immediate help on day-to-day tasks at the CT scanner.
WorkStream 4D
WorkStream 4D further enhances the already superb workflow of the SOMATOM Perspective CT system by offering direct generation of sagittal, coronal, double-oblique reconstructed images directly from CT raw data as part of the CT protocol.
Iterative Reconstruction
As a standard of high-quality imaging the SOMATOM Perspective automatically comes with the latest available iterative reconstruction algorithm, directly integrated into the CT scanner. No additional hardware is needed to support the fast image reconstruction. By default, advanced protocols utilizing the outstanding iterative reconstruction are available for a broad spectrum of application fields, such as head, abdomen, extremities, coronary CTA and angiography scans.
For SOMATOM Perspective 16 and 32 slice configurations, SAFIRE iterative reconstruction enables significant dose reduction by utilizing iterative loops in image data space and raw data space. Additionally, the SOMATOM Perspective 64 and 128 slice configurations with the software syngo CT VC40 feature an advanced iterative reconstruction with ADMIRE model-based technology.
In clinical practice, the use of SAFIRE may reduce CT patient dose depending on the clinical task, patient size, anatomical location, and clinical practice. A consultation with a radiologist and a physicist should be made to determine the appropriate dose to obtain diagnostic image quality for the particular clinical task. The following test method was used to determine a 54 to 60% dose reduction when using the SAFIRE reconstruction software. Noise, CT numbers, homogeneity, low-contrast resolution, and high contrast resolution were assessed in a Gammex 438 phantom. Low dose data reconstructed with SAFIRE showed the same image quality compared to full dose data based on this test. Data on file.

Head and Arm Support
The head and arm support can freely be placed at any position on the patient table or patient table extension. It is used during e. g. chest and abdominal examinations to comfortably position patient's head and arms.

Surge Protective Device (SPD)
CT Slicker
Thermoseal seams and flaps deflect fluids, reducing contaminant penetration into the cushion and table. Contaminants are retained on the tabletop or shunted to the floor. Cleanup is faster, more thorough, and contaminant build-up is reduced. Built using heavy, clear, micro matte vinyl, and top-grade hook and loop fastening strips (Velcro) to better fit the specified table. Custom vinyl resists tears and minimizes radiologic interference. Standard UPS for Perspective
The standard partial system uninterruptible power system (UPS) is built directly into the power distribution cabinet (PDC) and supports the critical circuits for table and gantry electronics, console computer, image reconstruction system, and the internal Ethernet switch (to ensure connectivity). This enables safe removal of patient if outage occurs during scanning.
The UPS allows for a safe shutdown of the CT scanner in the event of power interruption. The UPS provides 5-7 minutes of power, during which the user is prompted and guided through the process to perform a safe shutdown of the system. This safe shutdown ensures that no data is lost.

DoseLogs
Whenever a dose limit exceeds the established reference dose levels (Dose Notification and Dose Alert) a report is automatically created on the system, enhancing your ability to track radiation dose.
Dose Alert
Dose Alert: Dose Alert automatically adds CTDIvol and DLP values depending on z-position (scan axis). The Dose Alert window appears, if either of these cumulative values exceeds a user-defined threshold.
Dose Notification
Dose Notification: Dose Notification provides the ability to set dose reference values (CTDIvol, DLP) for each scan range. If these reference values are exceeded the Dose Notification window informs the user.
eCockpit
The unique eCockpit suite enables more cost-efficient operation, reducing overhead costs. The entire working day of a CT system was taken into consideration from start-up to scanning and scan breaks to facilitate the most economic scanner usage.
eStart: Extends the tube lifetime by pre-warming the tube before a scan. The tube is the most delicate hardware in a CT scanner.
eMode: Reduces wear and tear on the scanner by instantly optimizing scan parameters.
eSleep: Saves energy by stopping gantry rotation during scan breaks.

UFC Detector
Ultra Fast Ceramics (UFC) technology is a unique type of scintillation technology material that quickly and efficiently transforms radiation from the X-ray tube into light signals. Its superb overall quantum efficiency and unique short afterglow enable time-critical X-ray detection at low doses and extremely fast data collection.
Gantry tilt incl. tilted spiral
Allows for sequential scanning with a tilted gantry between +/- 30°, depending on the vertical position of the table. Using the gantry tilt sensitive organs (like eye lenses) can be moved out of the scan range or it eases access during interventional procedures. The tilted spiral allows to utilize the gantry tilt for spiral scan modes.
Neuro BestContrast
The Neuro BestContrast algorithm can provide enhanced tissue contrast, resulting in improved contrast between gray and white matter without increasing image noise. This post processing step is rapid and can be easily incorporated into clinical workflow where it can be used with other dose reduction approaches such as iterative reconstruction.
