The Covidien Kendall SCD 700 is a smart compression controller designed to aid in the prevention of Venous Thromboembolism (VTE), including Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and Pulmonary Embolism (PE) in at-risk patients.
The Kendall SCD 700 uses Vascular Refill Detection (VRD) technology to measure venous refill time. It then customizes compression cycles automatically for each patient, ensuring optimal blood flow and preventing stasis. In fact, it moves 100% more blood per hour compared to traditional methods.
The controller displays the patient’s true wear time by nursing shift. It alerts the nurse when sleeves are removed, promoting adherence to therapy. This feature supports quality improvement initiatives and ensures effective treatment.
The Kendall SCD 700 boasts a flexible and transportable design. It includes animated alerts with resolution prompts for any errors, operates quietly, and features a large LCD screen for visibility. As part of the Kendall SCD 700 Smart Compression system, the controller works in conjunction with other components, such as comfort sleeves, pediatric comfort sleeves, express foot cuffs, and express sleeves.
